Tennessee
Government Thermal Imaging Customer
Profile: The
State of Tennessee is comprised of multiple buildings, which are electrically
maintained under a service contract held by Stones River Electric, Inc. Through
this contract, Stones River Electric has helped educate the State of Tennessee
to the benefits of thermal imaging. Considering the 5.7 million square feet to
maintain, utilizing thermal imaging to detect possible electrical problems before
they become more serious is critical for proper maintenance with minimal expense.

Customer
Issues: - Inability
to detect electrical complications before they become emergency situations.
-
Loss of productivity due to major electrical repairs requiring downtime of departments
and/or entire facilities.
Project
Objective: As
part of this contract, we provide a value added service via thermal imaging of
all electrical equipment in the primary facilities. Through thermal imaging, we
are able to detect excessive heat, which in turn damages electrical components,
drives, and motors. Once a problem area is discovered, Stones River Electric will
make recommendations for preventative maintenance.
Results:
Through
our thermal imaging efforts, Stones River Electric has detected numerous electrical
deficiencies, which could have led to more serious problems that would have shut
down major equipment, floors, or entire facilities. This has allowed the State
of Tennessee to keep each department open and operational, fulfilling its responsibility
to its citizens. As with all facilities, preventative maintenance is the least
expensive method in maintaining the building’s electrical equipment. In addition
to saving costs from avoiding major electrical repairs, other costs are avoided
such as, diminished employee productivity and increased liability exposure. |
